Adufera explores the multicultural repertoire of songs and instrumental music of the Mediterranean through a creative dialogue between instruments, performance practices and musical aesthetics of the East and the West. For this musical exchange the ensemble performs pieces collected during fieldwork combining different vocal techniques with the rich timbre of the hurdy gurdy, different Turkish and Arabic lutes, and all types of traditional frame drums.
